Orlando shooting anniversary observance in Duluth on Monday
Monday marks the first anniversary of the Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando, Fla., that claimed 49 lives. A memorial observance will be held in Duluth that day to honor the victims, and give local residents a place to gather and reflect on the tragedy.
"Remembering Pulse: One Year Later" will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Dr. Robert Powless Cultural Center at AICHO, 202 W. Second St.
"The event will have reflection and processing activities, opportunities for individuals to share their thoughts and stories, and refreshments will be provided," organizers said.
The event is co-sponsored by AICHO, TRANS+, the University of Minnesota Duluth Office of Diversity & Inclusion and the UMD Queer and Allied Student Union.
