One year since the big storm: Share your stories

Large trees were blown down by the July 21, 2016 storm, some of which landed on this home at 5518 London Road. Bob King / rking@duluthnews.com

It’s been nearly a year since a windstorm caused widespread damage in parts of Duluth, Rice Lake, Lakewood, Ely, Hill City and many other Northland communities.

For those of you who were affected by the July 21 storm, are there any lingering effects a year later? Are you still mourning lost trees? Did you create anything from the wood of those downed trees?

Were there any silver linings from the storm? Are you closer to your neighbors after going for days without power?

We’d like to hear your perspectives on the storm — for better or worse — a year later. Share your stories by emailing weather@duluthnews.com; send us a message on Facebook; or send us a letter at the Duluth News Tribune, 424 W. First St., Duluth, MN 55802.

We’d like to hear from you by Wednesday.
